Governors

14/05/2026

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Susan Powell, a highly respected and long‑serving member of our Local Governing Committee.

Throughout her 8 years of service, Sue brought thoughtful challenge, steady leadership, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring the very best for Kenley’s pupils.  Her professionalism, integrity, and genuine care for the school community shaped so much of what we value today.

Sue gave her time generously and approached every discussion with clarity, fairness, and a deep sense of purpose. Her contributions strengthened our governance and supported the school through both challenges and successes.  Her legacy will continue to be felt in the life of the school for many years to come.

On behalf of the Local Governing Committee, I extend our heartfelt condolences to Sue’s family and loved ones.  We are extremely grateful for all she gave to our school, and we will remember her with great respect.

Kenley Primary School is part of The Collegiate Trust. The Directors of the Trust have delegated the oversight and leadership of Kenley Primary School to the Local Governing Committee (LGC), made up of parents, staff, LA and Trust representatives.

The governing committee is responsible for both the conduct of the school and for promoting high standards. The governing committee carries out its role by setting the vision for school and then ensuring that the school works efficiently and effectively towards achieving that vision. It does this by building a thorough knowledge of the school and its community, by both supporting and constructively challenging the school, and by ensuring accountability and compliance. The governing committee of our school is made up of parent governors, co-opted governors and a Local Authority governor.
